I was reading a Time magazine article Recently I wanted to have a look at a really awesome write-up in Fortune 500 Magazine and discovered that there is a thing called skype phones spreading over the web .The two geezers who began it sold their website to e bay and are now very wealthy because of it.You are probably wondering what I am going on about.Many know it as skype.It is hardly a novel concept telephoning a friend over the world wide web without having to putting your hand in your pocket.

So all you have is rig up a phone to your computer and you can see and talk to anyone anywhere in the world using skipe.It is essentail you get a rapid connection as quickly as you can.Fantastic pictures are not guaranteed however if your connection is slow.

One of the worlds biggest sites Ebay has already jumped on the bandwagon and is flogging phones specifically for skyp.We think skype has been in existence for a year to date and it is proving hugely popular.

The bigger commercial telecom firms are beginning to sell voice over internet protocol packages.The question on everyones lips is will it last the distance.Will the net spell the end for voice over ip

You can be fairly sure that a lot of start ups will enter the market in the hope of making a killing but it has an established foothold. The government will undoubtedly see the potential and want to add money to their coffers by using voip.Skype are charging to make phone calls to cell phones and local regular phones, and that's called skyping out,etc

My thoughts are that audio and video over the internet, especially over a broadband connection will see a shift in popularity.Many people think video and audio will be a passing fad but all the evidence points in the other direction.

The next ten years will be make or break for the world of voip and only the consumers will tell us whether the free skype download is worth shouting home about.We'll see in the next few years.
