Web Page Creation

If you're an HTML wiz then you don't need much more than Notepad to whip up a webpage or website. Most of us aren't such a whiz so here's an excellent free alternative to Dreamweaver or Frontpage.

Nvu (pronounced N-view, for a ‘new view’) neatly combines web file management and easy-to-use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web page editing.

It is easy to use, making it ideal for non-technical computer users who want to create professional-looking web sites without needing to learn HTML.

Nvu is open source and therefore free for anyone to use for personal and/or business use.

NOTE: Development on Nvu seems to have stalled leaving the current release a bit buggy which I found frustrating. However, there is an alternative:

Kompozer is touted as "Nvu's unofficial bug-fix release" and while being based on the Nvu code it's author has fixed many of the bugs that remain in Nvu. I recommend using Kompozer over Nvu.
