Eraser
Most
people at some stage will have files and documents on their
computer that they would prefer to remain private. When you send
files to the recycle bin and even once you have emptied the
recycle bin these files have not been truly deleted.
They are actually still sitting on your hard drive but
ignored by the operating system.
Recovery is still a fairly easy matter until the sectors
of the disk that contain the data are written over by new data.
In fact, with the technology available today, it should
be written over and re-written over a number of times until you
can really feel safe.
